SIRI'S STORY
Siri came to the UK after a stellar career in the US, which included several BOBs over multiple Champions. Achieving her American title in 5 shows, she was Reserve Winners Bitch from the Puppy class at the Columbine Specialty under Marie Peterson (Windy Cove) and Reserve Winners Bitch under Eivind Mjaerum of Norway at the Garden State Norwegian Elkhound Club specialty. You can read more about Siri's adventures on the Kamgaard website.
Bryony Gray of the Grasilva Norwegian Elkhounds fell in love with young Siri at the NEAA National Specialty in Boston and her breeders, Sally Simmonds and Maggie Mott, very graciously allowed her to make the journey to the UK. Siri made her debut in the UK in the autumn of 2015 following time out for maternal duties, winning the RCC at Midland Counties under Peter Hudson (Norderhove). She came back to the same show the following year to take the RCC again under Serena Parker. She was the winner of the Touvere Brood Bitch Trophy in the NECGB Points Trophies competition in 2016 and runner up in the same competition in the following year. She and her progeny won the Brood Bitch class at the NECGB Ch Show 2017, the same year that she was awarded BOS & RBIS at the NEAS Open Show.
Puppies from her litter by Am Ch Horizon Rock Solid also debuted before the end of 2015 and have been making their presence felt in the UK showring. Son Flint (Ch Grasilva Little Rock Avec Gilkaro JW) was the top points-winning male of 2016 (Wythall Trophy), along the way becoming the first male to claim a Junior Warrant since 2008. He gained his title in 2018.
Daughter Tia (Grasilva Silver Vine) was Reserve Best Bitch at the NECGB Open Show under Debs Moughton (Dekris) and Puppy Bitch of the Year at the NECGB Contest of Champions under Robert Greaves (Whittimere). The following year, she won her first CC & BOB at Manchester under Norwegian international all-rounder, Espen Engh, who wrote about her “To me she stood out in the entry…. the star of the day”.
From the same litter, Mason (Grasilva Eric's Gift) took home some Hound Group placings and a Reserve Best in Show at Open Shows.
This exceptional litter was co-bred by Bryony Gray and Vanessa McHugh. Siri lives in luxury with Bryony (and sleeps on her bed) and can usually be found up to her knees in the red mud of Somerset!
