Both Vanessa McHugh and Stuart Horner award CCs in Norwegian Elkhounds.
Maureen Horner has retired from judging after a long career at open show level.
As a family, they are highly regarded by their fellow exhibitors and they are known to all in the breed as knowledgeable, fair and impartial judges who judge the dog, the whole dog, and nothing but the dog.
Vanessa's judging career began in 2000. In the same year, she passed the NECGB Judges' Training Scheme with Distinction.
Following more than a decade of experience as an open show judge, she has now awarded CCs in the breed on three occasions and has also completed an overseas appointment. Some of her most recent appointments were:
Norwegian Elkhound Club of Great Britain Championship Show (in 2016)
Norwegian Elkhound Association of America National Specialty Sweepstakes (in 2014)
South Wales Kennel Club (in 2013)
East of England (in 2011)
Norwegian Elkhound Club of Great Britain Open Show (bitches) (in 2007)
